Speech to Text Recording
mattero can dictate speech-to-text when creating a Note, or creating a Note and Time Record on a Matter's Dashboard. (View the Create a Note and Create Notes and Time Records articles for more information on these processes.)
However, you may be required to configure your device and browser's microphone settings to properly enable this dictation feature.
Please note, though your voice is transcribed to text, no audio recordings will be saved anywhere in mattero.

Troubleshooting
Below are some common issues you may encounter, and their solutions.
Microphone blocked by browser
Your browser's privacy settings may prohibit your device's microphone from recording, even if you have already enable the microphone on your device.
This can be resolved by configuring the settings on either your Chrome or Edge browser.
For Chrome browsers, select the Microphone icon in the top-right corner of the browser, then select Always allow... and Done.
Alternatively:
- Select the Action menu in the top-right corner of the browser, then select Settings.
- In Chrome's settings, select Privacy and Security and Site Settings.
- Select Microphone.
- As needed, select a microphone from your device's available microphones.
- Under Default Behaviour, select Sites can ask to use your microphone.
- When you record your first speech-to-text with mattero, a pop-up may appear requesting access to your microphone for mattero; if so, select Allow.
For Edge browsers, select the Microphone icon in the top-right corner of the browser, then select Always allow... and Done.
Alternatively:
- Select the Action menu in the top-right corner of the browser, then select Settings.
- Select Cookies and Site Permissions, then select Microphone.
- As needed, select a microphone from your device's available microphones.
- Under Ask Before Accessing, select the button to activate.
- When you record your first speech-to-text with mattero, a pop-up may appear requesting access to your microphone for mattero; if so, select Allow.
Recording with Two Programs at Once
If you attempt to record speech-to-text with mattero and a separate program at the same time, you may encounter difficulties.
It is recommended you only attempt to record with one program at a time. Further, you can copy and paste any text entered in mattero to another program at any time.
