Document Automation FAQs
Below are a number of frequently asked questions surrounding Document Automation.
If you have any questions you'd like to see as an FAQ, you can consult our Community section or contact mattero via the Submit a Request page.
Why does the time and date field change format?
You may notice when generating a PDF from a Word Document Template that the time and date field changes from "dd/mm/yyyy" to "mm/dd/yyyy".
This usually occurs when the "Date and Time" option from the "Insert" menu in Microsoft Word is used in the document, rather than a time and date field from mattero.
This is due to the Microsoft Date and Time field drawing its information from the server that generates the PDF, which is not your personal device. Instead, the PDF is generated via one of the servers mattero uses to host our service.
However, mattero has created custom "Date" and "Time and Date" fields you can add to your Document Template to resolve this issue.
Copy and paste one of the following two fields into the Date field in your Document Template:
Date
<<[Document__CreatedDate]:"dd/MM/yyyy">>
Date and Time
<<[Document__CreatedDateTime]:"dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm:ss tt">>
Alternatively, go to the Available Fields section of the Document Templates page in mattero, then search for "Created" and copy and paste from the fields that appear.
